But I’m Obligated

Do you remember a time in your life when you didn’t have any obligations?  If you’re like me, probably not.  We seem to accumulate obligations our whole life.  They are either material or people.  Material obligations are easy, they can be paid off and be over at our choosing.  It is the people obligations that we allow to hold us back.  Whether it’s a marriage/relationship that just isn’t working or friends who seem to be stuck with the way things were.

The good news is that being obligated to people is nothing more than a state of mind.  A state that can be changed.  If true love is unconditional and we must love ourselves first, then it is out of love that we let go those people who just haven’t learned what we have.  As you become free, so do they.

Imagine a life without any obligation except to yourself.  Imagine a life where you think, say and do what you want.  Imagine a life where you see everyone as equal and your only desire for them is to have what they want.
