Just about everyone has heard the phrase “Practice makes perfect.” But what is perfection? If you think about it, perfection is an ideal that can’t exist. Why? because perfection is something that can’t be improved. What we should say is “practice makes better.” Isn’t that what we are really after? To be better.
When we think about ourselves and others as human beings, it is our quirks and differences that make us individual, which brings diversity, which brings out the best in all of us.
Another way to look at it, if we had a perfect life with no problems or challenges, it would get really boring, really fast. It is the imperfection of life that gives it meaning, a chance to improve and grow. That is what we really want. To experience and learn.
Loving life with all its contrast is a choice and to borrow a quote from the movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, “Choose wisely.”
