“To everything there is a season….” Is one of the most quoted verses from the Bible. Regardless of religion this verse is a powerful lesson for us. Now that fall is here and Samhain is approaching, it is the perfect time of the year to stop and take note of where we are, physically, mentally, and spiritually. We must tend to ourselves and take note to see what we need. Just as every farmer knows to rest the soil every seventh year, we should rest ourselves according to what we believe (Now you know where the 7th day of rest in the week came from). It could also be with the seasons, as winter is a time for hibernation and rest. It is during this rest we can follow the Earth’s wisdom and re-nourish ourselves. It is the time to assess ourselves, see where we’re at, where we’re going, and make adjustments.
Spring begins life anew, a seed deep in the soil
Summer brings the wonders forth with all our work and toil
Fall is when the harvest comes, proof of what we’ve done
Winter lets us rest inside to let our spirits run
