Believing is Seeing

So many live with the idea that when they see it they’ll believe it, but it actually works the other way.  We will swear up and down that something is a certain way, either by something we’ve read or something someone else said only to find that someone somewhere thought differently and eventually proved their view to where we have to accept it.  One of the most notable examples is Galileo, who furthered the position of Copernicus that the earth revolved around the sun instead of the sun revolving around the earth.  Even though there were other circumstances involved, he was tried and found guilty of heresy.  Of course now it is common knowledge that the earth revolves around the sun but the point is simple, when we don’t believe something we won’t see it.

Being open to new ideas as possible frees us to choose our own path instead of someone else’s.

Blessed Be,

Gabriel
